Enthralled By The Golden Glamour

“Sparkling and glittering walking down the aisle, there was my bride, and my heart was filled with joy as I stared with my eyes opened wide. The enchanting gold and diamonds and her perfectly clad bright red attire, made me fall in love with her all over again and made her my only desire.”

When my groom recited the above lines on the eve of our wedding, I was spell bound and tears of joy trickled down my kohled eyes. Even after so many years, I can still hear his voice speaking these magic words. I was watching the wedding video and wondered what is it that was so captivating about the way I looked? What was it that coaxed my husband to narrate this verse? Obviously, I was really happy that all my efforts to get the bridal look right, were appreciated. Whenever I think of my pre-marriage days, I feel amazed that how I managed to do it; all the dress, makeup, beautician, arrangements, invitations and most importantly the jewellery. I am so finicky, when it comes to buying gold jewellery and that is why my jewellery had not been purchased until a day before the wedding. But finally, I was glad because I was able to find exactly what I wanted and he loved it as much as I did.

Jewellery is the weakness of every female on this planet. I can’t really recall when, how and at what age I developed love for gold jewellery. All I remember is that I loved to wear the heavy necklaces and bangles that belonged to my grandma. From my childhood days to the present times, jewellery has undergone a massive transformation. Even though I love the chunky, traditional jewellery that my grandma owned, but I wonder how they managed it. When I watch movies like Jodha Akhbar, I thank my stars that I am born in the present time. I can’t imagine how my slender waist would have carried the weight of the heavy ghaghra and how would my neck and ears bear the brunt of the necklaces and jhumkas that are even mightier in size than me. Present day jewellery is amazing with pretty designs, different colours and metals like gold, silver, platinum, etc. The designs are elegant, petite and have a very contemporary feel. In the present times, the sleeker the design, the better it is. Gold jewellery studded with precious stones is my personal favorite.

Various brands like Amore, D’damas, Asmi, Feelgood, Nakshatra, Myra, Gili, etc. offer numerable designs to choose from. When I look at rings, pendants, chains, nose pins, earrings and Tanmaniyas, my pupils dilate and my mouth starts watering. I am sure that by now you must have known that I don’t just love jewellery but I’m obsessed with it. White gold jewellery and platinum jewellery is my favourite. As cherries are appreciated on the cake in the same way a few diamonds and precious gemstones over precious metals also add value. Jewellery can possibly accentuate various body parts forehead, ears, nose, neck, waist, arms, wrists, toes and ankles to name a few. The sweetness of the caress of jewellery is second to none. Looking at it gives my adrenalin a rush and owning it makes me high but wearing it makes me feel ecstatic.
